How do you stay cool in the summer months? Do you leave your windows open and hope for the best, or do you have a central air conditioning system? Do you sit in front of a fan in a bathing suit wishing your body temperature would lower, or do you have noisy A/C window unit that won’t stop whirring? Whether your solution is one of these options or a combination of several, consider the alternative to traditional air conditioning methods: the ductless air conditioner.

Ductless Air Conditioners

A ductless air conditioner – aka mini-split air conditioner – can keep you cool when the mercury rises. This type of A/C works well in homes where there are no HVAC ducts. Ductless A/C units are small, energy efficient and can help reduce your utility bills.

Ductless air conditioners offer many benefits besides cooling you down on a hot day. They provide zoned heating without the use of ducts; therefore, you can place the units just about anywhere. Because these units can go wherever you want, you can create a targeted zone to keep certain areas of your home cooler than others. Unlike traditional A/C that uses ducts, you don’t have to set one temperature for your entire home; thus, saving energy and money.

Ductless air conditioners are one of the more eco-friendly options when it comes to home cooling systems. You’ll be saving money and the environment when you use one. Each air handler comes with its own programmable thermostat that allows you to set the temperature for every room that it’s used in. For rooms that remain unoccupied for periods of time, simply turn off the unit. With central A/C you cannot target only one room, you will have to leave the entire system running in order to cool one space.

You can purchase wall units or units that sit on the floor. They are hookup up through a small hole in the wall – about three inches – that is barely visible and provides ample cool air to turn any room into a very chill environment. These air conditioners offer easy installation because they are smaller and don’t need as much length or depth like other units. An added bonus of ductless units is that they can also provide heat. They contain heat pumps as well for those days when being cool isn’t an option.

Ductless air conditioners give your home a nice cool climate on the hottest days of the year. It’s not easy being cool, but with a ductless unit, you’re one step closer.
